Finance Director – The Convention Centre Dublin The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has retained Brightwater Executive in the search for our new Finance Director, a superb opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader to make a deep and long-lasting impact for the future. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will act as Finance Business Partner to the CEO and play a key role in managing our stakeholder relationships. Background: The CCD is Ireland’s first purpose-built, international conference venue, located on Dublin’s North Wall Quay. Since opening in September 2010, we have hosted over 1,950 events for a range of Irish and international clients and won 50 industry awards, including Europe’s Leading Meetings & Conference Centre for four years running, and World's Leading Meetings & Conference Centre 2017 and 2019. Our aim is to offer our clients and visitors an unrivalled event experience as we continue to position Ireland on the world stage for international conferences and events. As a Public Private Partnership, we have a unique and complex system of funding arrangements, corporate governance requirements and diverse stakeholders and the role of the Finance Director is to manage and foster these relationships, creating a world class environment of commercial enterprise, corporate governance and risk management.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and direction in all financial matters to The CCD Board, along with commentary on market. • Responsible for the undertaking of short-, medium- and long-term forecasting in all financial areas. • Provide leadership and support to the finance team to ensure a full service is provided to The CCD. • Awareness of corporate governance and relevant legal statutes which will have a direct impact on The CCD • Preparation of management accounts, budget and forecasting to provide an accurate and thorough financial pack for the Board. • Ensuring tax liabilities are accurately calculated and paid in line with set due dates. • Accurate cash flow management in line with the guiding principles used within the PPP deal. • Building of excellent working relationships with all key stakeholders within the project to raise the visibility of The CCD and create a network of contacts. • Responsible for the provision of all risk management and audit provisions to The CCD. • Supply first class advice, including key decision support, in all areas relating to financial, legal and tax matters. • Effective working capital management to ensure sufficient cash-flow is available to cover the running costs of the business. • Manage the relationship and reporting to the funding banks. • Manage the relationship with the OPW including all reporting, risk management and invoicing.

The Ideal Candidate for this role:

• Qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years’ post qualified experience (ACA / ACCA / ACMA / CPA or similar) • Educated to degree level or equivalent. • Prior experience in Public Private Partnerships or similar regulated environments • Proven ability to build excellent working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in a collaborative environment • Previous experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team. • Experience in the events / hospitality industry is desirable • Full knowledge of FRS 102 (Irish GAAP)
