Brightwater Legal was immensely honoured to be the sole recruitment sponsor for the second year running in partnership with The Law Society of Ireland’s PPC Hybrid Ball 2024, held at the Clontarf Castle Hotel on Saturday, January 31st, 2026. This event was a truly special occasion, celebrating the remarkable achievements of 89 dedicated students from the Blackhall Place Campus’s PPC Hybrid course.
As Head of Legal Recruitment at Brightwater, I understand the commitment and dedication required to pursue a career in law. The PPC Hybrid programme, with its innovative blend of online and on-campus learning, perfectly embodies the modern legal professional’s need for flexibility and accessibility. It provides a vital pathway for aspiring solicitors, particularly those based outside Dublin, allowing them to balance their professional education with existing work and personal commitments.
As part of the speech, I spoke about partnering with an insurance client who chose a recipient of the PPC Hybrid course as they were able to demonstrate both their legal and industry experience. The candidate was awarded a more senior title because of the unique value found in their hybrid learning and concurrent work experience.
The programme’s structure, featuring recorded online lectures, engaging onsite weekends, and interactive live online sessions, showcases the Law Society of Ireland’s commitment to delivering a comprehensive and supportive learning experience. The inclusion of optional catch-up sessions further highlights their dedication to student success.
The evening was a resounding success, filled with joy and celebration. It was truly inspiring to witness the camaraderie and shared sense of accomplishment among the attendees. The ball provided a well-deserved opportunity for these hardworking trainees to unwind and celebrate their dedication after a challenging year.
