The gala event, a much anticipated event of the Chartered Accountants Ireland calendar took place in Croke Park on Thursday 7th February.

Brightwater Executive were there along with Brightwater Group and over 50 tables of Chartered Accountants Ireland's best and brightest to celebrate. Fearghal McCormack, President of the Institute kicked off proceedings with a pipe band.

MC for the evening was the inimitable Eugene McCague who had the audience in stitches for most of the night.
Guest speaker was Mr Pat Cox, former President of the European Parliament and current President of the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe. He spoke about the importance of sustainability.

By far, the star of the evening was Deborah Somorin, Assistant Manager of PwC who was given an Inspirational Award by Fearghal McCormack. Her moving story of how she overcame lack of family support, homelessness and a teen pregnancy through education and a strong work ethic was truly inspirational. She founded "Empower the Family" in 2018 and is raising funds to support young disadvantaged single parents who want to go to university. 

The chosen charity for the evening was Special Olympics Ireland, a cause close to the President's heart. Brightwater Executive donated a prize that included an "Ultimate Supercar Experience" in Mondello. Congratulations to Johnny Lew of KPMG who won!

A great night was had by all!
