About the Position

They have an immediate requirement for a Control Room Operator to monitor the Irish Road network.  The role involves working 2 shifts, 3 day shifts (four days on and four days off * 3) and then then 4 nights. This is a very good role with good career prospects for the right candidate. It is a very important and interesting role with a lot of responsibility.


Key Responsibilities
 

  • Watching CCTV, swiftly react to incidents, accidents, and emergencies.
  • Utilise cutting-edge technology to identify, analyse, and regulate patterns and incidents.
  • Collaborate with emergency services, contractors, and stakeholders for a prompt and effective response to any situation.
  • Deliver concise, precise instructions using various communication tools, such as variable message signs and social media.
  • Coordinate with other control centres to effectively address incidents
  • Maintain accurate incident logs and prepare comprehensive reports as part of your administrative duties.
  • Regularly inspect equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Foster smooth and secure traffic movement through effective communication with team members, road users, and stakeholders.

Experience/Requirements
 
  • Keen attention to detail and a strong sense of motivation.

  • Very strong computer skills and exceptional communication skills to provide clear instructions and updates.

  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with diverse stakeholders effectively.

  • Strong organisational abilities to manage incident logs and reports.

  • Prior experience in a control room or traffic management role is beneficial.
