Senior Management Accountant

Our client is a leading retail accountancy and consulting firm based in County Cork. Due to significant business growth, they have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant to join the team. You will manage the completion and reporting of monthly management accounts for various retail clients, liaising regularly with the customer whilst managing a team of accountants and trainee accountants. The business now employs forty staff and continues to grow steadily year on year.  This is an ideal opportunity for a senior accounting professional to advance their career within a highly successful and innovative business.

• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts.
• Strong emphasis on investigating gross margin variances.
• forming an action plan to enhance margin and reduce costs.
• Evaluate and implement effective internal controls.
• Overseeing working capital management.
• Providing full financial control services to clients
• Managing a team of accountants at varying levels.  

• Qualified accountant with over 5 years post qualified experience.
• Proficient in all aspects of accounts preparation.
• Presenting financial analysis to clients.
• Proposing operational and financial improvements.
• Strong attention to detail, competent IT skills.
• Ability to train and supervise staff.
• Excellent organisational skills, work on own initiative and to tight deadlines.
• Understanding of the retail sector, advantageous but not essential.
• Available to start immediately, highly desirable but not essential.

• Recognised professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
• Having previous experience within a similar role in a retail environment would be an advantage, however all relevant applications will be considered.
• Full retail accountancy training will be provided.
