Purchasing Manager – Medical and Healthcare

About the Company

A global brand related to the medical and healthcare industry, based in Meath, is currently looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to work with their team to develop a robust strategic purchasing function and to manage and operate this function to the highest standard across their site in Ireland. This client specialises in the area of medical and healthcare equipment and products and have a global client based.  With both external clients and internal stakeholders in play, this will be a very active role for someone who is looking to work within a company that operates efficiently and effectively. This role will help streamline an already efficient purchasing function and aid this company to excel on projects for their clients. About the Position

Reporting to the Procurement director, the purchasing manager will plan, regulate, and monitor the buying and sourcing process across all categories for their functions across Ireland, with interaction into Europe and the rest of the world. The role will focus on managing efficiency improvements and strategic souring methodologies in the purchasing process. Working closely with all departments you will identify process improvement and cost management saving opportunities to help the overall success of the company.

Experience/Requirements 

Within this role you will be involved in

• Key strategic decision making related to purchasing

• Internal client management

• Manage the vendor selection process and strategic sourcing

• Manage external supplier to ensure best practice supply

• Materials Management

• Manage negotiations with vendors/suppliers

• Operational efficiencies across the supply chain function

• Develop a stringent rebate management function

• Ensure cost management is adhered to across the company.

• Manage the ERP system and ensure that billing and invoicing is monitored

• Manage the supply chain risk and improve sustainability across the function

For this role you are required to have;

• A min of 8 years procurement experience.

• Experienced working in a continuous improvement environment 

• A strategic thinker and experience in planning

• Strong Negotiating skills

• Experience with SAP and Power BI

• Experience in the healthcare or medical sector is a distinct advantage

• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
