About the Company
My client, based in Central Dublin is one of Ireland’s leading Legal Costs Accountants firms. They have been providing the highest level of service in legal costs to their clients for over 40 years. Their team of qualified legal costs accountants and solicitors provide services to businesses and individuals throughout Ireland.
About the Position
They are currently looking to add to their team a Legal Costs Administrator. This position is ideal for candidates who are currently working within the legal sector and who wish to pivot into a new area within the legal space.
Key Responsibilities
To assist with the development of an efficient system to progress drafting bill of costs.
Prepare and check bills of Costs on Word/Evolve.
To prepare, in conjunction with the legal cost’s accountant, more complex bills and track their progress.
Submit relevant bills for assessment to the legal costs accountant and track the bills through the assessment process.
Submit final bills of costs to the client for approval.
Liaise with the relevant legal costs accountant and finance staff to ensure that all final bills are settled.
Provide managers with monthly billing and time reporting performance data, as required.
Provide the managers at least quarterly work in progress reports.
Draft and maintain a Billing and Costing template that can be used to cover common issues and processes within the organization and to be of assistance to other not for profit legal advice agencies.
To attend courses on billing and costing, specialist skills and the use of information technology.
To participate in project review meetings as required.
To actively participate in supervision and appraisal and team activities to promote high standards and continuous development.
Liaise and help support any management on costs projects.
Experience/Requirements
Experience of working within a legal environment essential
Experience of invoicing or record keeping.
High degree of accuracy and checking in any work that is carried out.
Good IT skills and, in particular, confident with Microsoft Office and databases including case management systems.
Excellent organizational skills, including maintaining paper and electronic filing systems.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing, in person and on the telephone.
Ability to work well as part of a team and form effective working relationships with others.
Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize effectively when there are competing demands on time.
Ability to work on your own initiative.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Some understanding of court procedures and costs rules.
Some understanding of the cost’s rules and billing procedures.
Leaving Certificate or equivalent at Grade C or above in English and Mathematics
Ability to hold your own with other professionals.
Remuneration Package
€45,000
Excellent commission structure after training period
