About the Company

Working with a global leader in electronic & automation design and manufacturing, this role will offer you the opportunity to focus your PLC programming skills and with the development of new systems for the extensive product range.  The products for this company are related the manufacturing, pharma, medical device and FMCG sectors and enable the implementation of automated technology to increase production.   
As a result of these large programs and the growth of the manufacturing sector across Ireland and Europe, our client is currently looking to recruit 2 PLC Programmers to manage the delivery of a major technology expansion program in Ireland. This is a hybrid role based role, based in Carlow or Cork.

About the Position

This is an ideal role for someone who has PLC experience and is looking to develop a career in this area. You will be mentored but experienced engineers and gain exposure to a range or projects. You will be well versed in PLC Programming and have prior experience working with high profile clients and stake holders. Experience in the automation sector related to the manufacturing industry would be beneficial for this role.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Work closely with the engineering manager to determine customer needs.

  • Developing project documentation related to each project

  • PLC development/trouble-shooting/testing/reviewing (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider etc). Ideally Siemens

  • HMI/Scada development/trouble-shooting/testing/reviewing.

  • System testing, commissioning and qualification.

  • Work on customer sites.

  • Work with clients on trouble shooting and related issues.

For this role you will have

  • A related engineering qualification

  • Experience with PLC’s

  • Any of the following backgrounds: Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Automation, Biopharma, Manufacturing, Physics

  • An interest in robotics and automation

  • Excellent client facing skills

  • A strong work ethic

  • A desire to learn and develop your career.




Remuneration Package

This is a permanent role and remuneration will be dependent on experience. They will offer a hybrid situation to the successful candidate.
