Design Engineer - (Medical Device)
About the Company
This is a medical device engineering company. They offer a range of development and manufacturing services from initial design assessment, through to the provision of sterile finished product. Their main focus is on the European and US market.
About the Position
We are recruiting for an experienced Design Engineer. This is a full time permanent position on site in the companies state of the art facility in Sligo.
This candidate will ideally have medical device experience, but this is not essential. It is essential that the chosen person has a bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
We are looking for an experienced candidate with at least 5 years working experience. We are looking for the candidate to start ASAP, but can appreciate some candidates will have a notice period to work out which is fine.
Key Responsibilities
Design and development of new medical products.
Product/process evaluation and associated record keeping.
Selection of raw materials, components and suppliers.
Fabrication of prototypes, and test products.
Communication with customers/Project Managers regarding project progression.
Resource for colleagues with less experience
Product and process continuous improvement activities
Other such duties as may
be assigned from time to time by their Manager.
Adhere to company Health & Safety requirements.
Experience/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar related discipline is essential.
5 years experience in similar role is essential.
Experience of working in a medical device environment would be an advantage though is not essential.
Ability to take ownership of tasks and bring to successful conclusions.
Knowledge of a high-end CAD System, Ideally Solidworks.
Hands on approach to designing and fabrication
Ability to work to strict international regulations regarding medical devices
