Splunk Systems Engineer

 

My client is a well established US Multinational technology company with state of the Art offices in Cork are looking for a remote or hybrid mid level Splunk Systems Engineer to join their Operations and Analytics global team. This role will offer remote so talent from anywhere in Ireland can apply. You must hold an Irish or EU passport. 

This is a strategic position and will be instrumental in the design, implementation, support, performance, and integrity of the Splunk ecosystem. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders and global partners. You will provide technology leadership in support of the overall Splunk strategy.
This is a multi-disciplinary role that will interact directly with developers and different functional IT, Security and Engineering teams to gather requirements, architect solutions and ensure the Splunk platform is leveraged as a key data collection and processing platform within Electronic Design Automation (EDA)

Responsibilities:

  • Splunk developer/data admin experience creating and managing knowledge objects (field extractions, macros, event types, etc.)
  • Experience with Splunk applications and dashboard development
  • Splunk Administration and/or Splunk Architecture experience
  • UNIX/Linux experience
  • Python/Perl script development experience
  • GIT/GitHub experience 
  • Java scripting experience to augment Splunk visualizations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex issues to diverse audiences in an easily understandable and actionable way
  • Proven ability to engage collaboratively with people in diverse teams and geographical locations

Ideally, you will have:
Software/Scripting development in Python/Perl Splunk power user and app development AWS and/or Azure experience A broad technical and business understanding and experience.
