Mechanical Engineer – Asset Engineer – Utilities
About the Company

We are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer with Asset Management experience for utility programs based throughout the country. Based from Cork, this an opportunity to work on Ireland’s utility and energy network expansion program This client manages and delivery large scale projects from the planning stage to handover and have expertise and manger essential capital projects related to the water network across Ireland.  
They have recently received funding for a number of upgrade and expansion projects across the utility network in Munster and are looking for an asset engineer with extensive construction/engineering experience to manage projects, based from Cork. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a sector that is as important to the consumer as it is to the environment. These utility expansion programs are essential to improve the network across the Munster region

About the Position

As the Asset Engineer for this program, you will have full life cycle management of this project. You will work closely with the project directors and envelope a thorough understanding of the reliability and life expectancy of the utilities and manage and develop a project plan in accordance to the outcomes of these reviews.  

Experience/Requirements 

Within this role you will be involved in

  • Design of life assessments for a large asset portfolio.

  • Team leading and team management across asset management.

  • Manage team meetings and progress status updates.

  • Review of exiting plans and update for the client where needed.

  • Manage Heath & Safety on site where needed.

  • Analyse data related to reliability of assets and make decisions based on this data.

  • Monitor the schedules and time scales regarding design and delivery.

  • Manage junior engineer to ensure the project runs smoothly

  • Manage subcontractors at the development stage

  • Deliver information to the client in a timely manner

  • Generate regular report on the project status.

  • Liaise with local authorities on planning issues.

  • Experience in rail project is an advantage.  

For this role you are required to have;

  • A min or 5 years Mechanical asset management experience.

  • A Mechanical Engineering qualification

  • Experience in mechanical asset management.

  • Heavy Construction/Engineering Experience

  • Ideally you will have experience in utilities or large infrastructure projects.

  • Experience in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Projects

  • A self-starter and the ability to manage multiple projects as any given time.
