My client is a world leader in their Industry, developing cutting edge products for a wide variety of applications. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing facility in Cork. 


 About the Position

The role reports to the Quality Engineering Team Lead with responsibility for supporting the business in driving continuous quality improvements, promoting best practices and adherence to quality standards primarily in production.
The role is a full-time on-site position located within the production area with daily interaction with the quality team, production supervisors, manufacturing, test technicians and operators.


Responsibilities

  • Identification and implementation of quality improvements through analysis of quality yields, process performance, controls, documentation etc.

  • Review and update quality assurance documentation.

  • Performing First Article Inspections.

  • Supporting Quality Engineering in processing quality related data and records.

  • Supporting Quality Engineering in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Supporting with in-process quality controls and inspection.

  • Supporting Production with best practises and continuous improvements.

  • Conducting internal product, process and quality management systems audits as part of the Internal Audit team.

  • Act as site calibration chairman and responsible for maintaining and managing calibration programs for equipment requiring periodic calibration.



Experience/Requirements
  • Minimum NFQ level 6 Certificate / Diploma in in Quality, Engineering, or Science.

  • Minimum 2 years working experience in electronics manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in First Article Inspection.

  • Sound understanding and utilization of problem-solving techniques.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified.

  • IPC610 and / or J-STD-001 Certified.

  • Certified Internal QMS Auditor.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.

  • Ability to write standard operating instructions, quality control instructions and training documents.

  • Reliable, quality focused and having attention to details.

  • Ability to work well on own as well as in teams.

  • Good communication and influencing skills.

  • Good attendance and time management.
