Finance Manager

Role Overview
Our client a leading city centre-based organisation in the energy sector are looking for a Finance Manager who can step into a high-impact role within a dynamic finance leadership team. This role goes beyond reporting it's about shaping the way finance supports strategic decisions, driving performance across the business, and leading a shift from traditional finance operations to a value-led partnership model.

You’ll be managing financial performance across multiple business lines, helping to transform how information is used across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of financial reporting and gross margin analysis for a portfolio with cost of sales across varied business units
  • Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, ensuring a high-performance culture that supports both technical excellence and commercial thinking
  • Redesign and streamline core finance processes with an emphasis on automation, insight generation, and forward-looking analysis
  • Produce monthly management accounts with meaningful commentary, working closely with commercial teams to understand the story behind the numbers
  • Maintain and improve financial controls and governance, ensuring data integrity and risk management across all reporting outputs
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities with detailed variance analysis and performance insights
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform decision-making and align financial plans with operational priorities
Key Skills Required
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong post-qualification experience in a complex or fast-moving business environment
  • Experience managing and mentoring finance teams, with a track record of developing talent
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to balance high-level analysis with attention to detail
  • Skilled in Excel, experience in SAP/Power
