About the Company

Our client is a well-established firm of accountants based in Cavan. Due to continued expansion and progression within the firm they are seeking a bookkeeper to join the team.

About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to work with a dynamic and innovative firm with a diverse client base. The role will suit an individual that is ambitious, and business focused and looking to advance their career in a reputable accountancy practice. This position offers a 4-day working week at full salary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file accurate Value Added Tax (VAT) returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and deadlines.
  • Process and manage PAYE/PRSI calculations and submissions, including year-end returns.
  • Handle Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT), ensuring correct deductions and submissions for relevant payments.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Perform accurate and timely bank reconciliations for multiple client accounts.
  • Manage and process client invoicing, including sales invoices and credit notes.
  • Maintain and update debtors' ledgers, ensuring accurate recording of outstanding payments and assisting with debtor management.
  • Process supplier invoices and expenses, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
  • Liaise directly with clients to request information, clarify transactions, and resolve queries professionally.
  • Provide support to senior accountants and partners as needed

Experience/Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of recent and relevant experience in a similar bookkeeping role, preferably within an accountancy practice or a fast-paced business environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a methodical approach to tasks and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work, particularly with financial data.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges

Remuneration Package

  • 4-day work week (At full salary)
