About the Position

My client is currently looking to hire an Electronics Trainer who will also support Operations and HR activities as part of a diverse role. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for delivery of effective training on site, while supporting the HR Manager in identification and co-ordination of effective training interventions to maintain and enhance the skills of all employees on site.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across several aspects of the business with people throughout the site and beyond.
The role is largely unsupervised on a daily basis. This will require a person with strong personal organisation and time management skills, who is dependable, will work on their own initiative to meet the training needs of others and identify opportunities for the site to better meet it objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Certification of relevant employees to customer required standards to include the latest revisions of:

  • IPC-A-610

  • IPC-J-STD-001

  • IPC 7711/7721

  • IPC WHMA-A-620

  • Support new employee induction and orientation

  • Support the introduction of new tools and work practices

  • Support HR Manager to co-ordinate with area supervisors/managers to devise a capability matrix for each area, identifying skills gaps and single points of failure with plans to address

  • Support Customer and Quality audits as they arise

  • Support the Root Cause Analysis and CAPA of production and quality issues

  • Support Design Engineering in prototype development

  • Organize and conduct hands-on training sessions, providing participants with practical experience in handling, testing, and troubleshooting electronic equipment and systems.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of current electronic technologies, industry best practices, and relevant regulations to ensure training content remains up-to-date and accurate.

  • Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, assessment results, and training program updates.

  • Maintain and develop training room to operate as an effective training facility

  • Support H&S Risk Assessments and expand trainer role as necessary.

  • Coordinate with the designated CI leader on related Lean training and waste reduction projects

  • Lead A3 improvement projects as opportunities arise

  • Promote Values and Culture and be an example to others

  • Work with the HR Manager to develop and maintain a training plan for all employees and achieve the overall strategic goals of the HR department

Experience/Requirements
  • The trainer needs to be certified to deliver IPC J-STD-001/A610 training or will be expected to become certified as well as other certifications as required.

  • Prior experience in delivering certified training to others as well as assessing and managing training needs is desirable and the trainer must have a demonstrated interest in training and encouraging others to excel.

  • Demonstrate good knowledge of Lean practices.

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills.

  • Good MS Office skills are required across Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in working in an electronics production and/or design environment is required.

  • Experience working in an EN9100 certified company is desirable and in an ISO environment is required.
