The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in shaping and executing our client’s enterprise-wide technology strategy. This position will lead both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), driving business transformation through strategic technology adoption, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
The role also encompasses responsibility for cyber resilience, data governance, and regulatory compliance, while fostering innovation across a secure, reliable, and future-oriented technology landscape. Technology Strategy & Innovation:
Define and deliver the enterprise-wide technology strategy, ensuring alignment of IT and OT with corporate objectives. Shape a long-term digital transformation roadmap, promote innovation, and champion emerging technologies such as AI. All strategies must be underpinned by strong governance, risk management, and industry best practices.

IT & OT Operations Management:
Ensure the secure, efficient, and resilient operation of all IT and OT systems, including infrastructure, networks, applications, and service delivery. Lead the organisation's technology security and risk management practices, with experience in ISO 27001 and IEC 62443 being essential. Knowledge of industrial operational technologies and the NIS2 Directive is also required.

Cybersecurity Leadership:
Design and implement cybersecurity frameworks to protect digital and physical assets. Maintain compliance with regulations including GDPR and NIS2, and manage enterprise-level risk through robust security protocols. Integrate cybersecurity into broader business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
Work across all business functions to ensure technology initiatives support business requirements and comply with regulatory obligations. Engage effectively with executive leadership, operational teams, regulatory authorities, and technology vendors.

Procurement & Vendor Management:
Oversee procurement of technology under the Utilities Directive, ensuring compliance, cost-efficiency, and transparency in supplier relationships.

Renewable Energy & Compliance Expertise:
Apply in-depth knowledge of the renewable energy sector to guide decisions and ensure regulatory alignment. Oversee integration of IT and OT compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to GDPR, NIS2, ISO/IEC standards, and sector-specific regulations.

Cost Management:
Drive reduction in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for IT assets and services across the organisation.

Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to and promote all policies and procedures relating to health, safety, and welfare in the workplace.

Leadership & Performance Management:
As a member of the Senior Management Team, actively contribute to resource planning and apply performance management frameworks to support team development and organisational goals.

Honours Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT, with substantial leadership experience in managing both IT and OT in mid-to-large scale organisations.

Proven experience in delivering technology strategies that align with and advance business goals.

Demonstrable expertise in implementing cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, IEC 62443).

Strong knowledge of GDPR, NIS2, and the Utilities Directive.

Deep understanding of operational technology in industrial settings and the unique regulatory and technical challenges this entails.

Strong leadership presence, having operated at Head of Function or equivalent level.

Experience within or closely aligned to the renewable energy or utilities sectors is highly advantageous.
