About the Company

A global brand related to the construction industry, based in Dublin, is currently looking to recruit a Logistics Project Manager to work with their team to develop a strategic logistics and purchasing function and to manage and operate this function across their sites in Ireland. This client specialises in the area of construction materials, hardware and wholesale equipment and products and have a global client based.  This will be a very active role for someone who is looking to work within a company that operates efficiently and effectively.


About the Position

Reporting to the Projects director, the Logistics manager will plan, regulate, and monitor the flow or materials across all categories for their functions in Ireland, with interaction into Europe and the rest of the world. Working closely with all departments you will identify process improvement and cost management saving opportunities to help the overall success of the company.
This is a strategic role and will promote change across the business.


Experience/Requirements 

Within this role you will be involved in

  • Key strategic decision making related to logistics and warehousing

  • Strategic development of the business unit

  • Internal client management

  • Manage the vendor selection process and strategic sourcing

  • Manage external supplier to ensure best practice supply

  • Materials Management

  • Manage negotiations with vendors/suppliers

  • Operational efficiencies across the supply chain function

  • Ensure cost management is adhered to across the company.

  • Manage the ERP system and ensure that billing and invoicing is monitored

  • Manage the supply chain risk and improve sustainability across the function

 

For this role you are required to have;

  • Experience in Logistics and Warehouse Management.

  • A min of 5 years procurement experience.

  • Experienced working in global markets

  • A strategic thinker and experience in planning

  • Strong Negotiating skills

  • Experience in the wholesale and hardware is a distinct advantage

  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
